On April 25 th 2025, the Sri Lanka Olympians official website was relaunched in a new and dynamic format during a special ceremony held at the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT), Malabe Research Campus.

The event was graced by Professor Lalith Gamage, Vice Chancellor of SLIIT, and attended by distinguished representatives from Sri Lanka Olympians, SLIIT, and a number of celebrated Olympic athletes.

Among the distinguished guests were Sugath Thilakaratne OLY (Deputy Minister of Sports), Sriyani Kulawansa OLY (President, Sri Lanka Olympians), Sunil Gunawardena OLY, Ruwini Abeymanna OLY (Secretary), Mahesh Perera OLY, K.T.N. Perera OLY, Nimmi de Soysa OLY (Treasurer), Anuruddha Ratnayake OLY, Niluka Rajasekara OLY, and several senior officers from SLIIT including the Human Resources Manager.

This website development project was carried out by SLIIT as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, in celebration of its 25th Anniversary. The new platform integrates advanced technology to bring together, in one place, the inspiring life stories and remarkable achievements of all Sri Lankan athletes who have represented the nation at the Olympic Games since 1948.

The Sri Lanka Olympians Association extends its sincere gratitude to the dedicated team at SLIIT for their continuous support and commitment in making this project a success.

The launch of this modernized website marks a significant milestone in the history of the Sri Lanka Olympians organization. It not only honors the excellence, dedication, and pride brought to the nation by our Olympians but also serves as an inspiring legacy for future generations.

By preserving the rich history of Sri Lanka’s Olympic journey, this initiative stands as a beacon of motivation and education, guiding young athletes to follow in the footsteps of those who have carried our national flag with distinction on the world stage.
