Kyle Charles Abeysinghe (born 4 February 2000) is a prominent Sri Lankan national swimmer known for his record-breaking performances and international achievements. A dedicated athlete from a young age, Kyle has represented Sri Lanka at multiple prestigious international competitions, consistently making his mark as one of the country’s top swimming talents.
A product of the renowned Killer Whale Aquatic Club, Kyle has trained under the expert guidance of his father and coach, Manoj Abeysinghe, who has played a pivotal role in shaping some of the most accomplished swimmers in Sri Lanka. His commitment to excellence and discipline in the pool have led him to become a multiple-time national champion, while also holding numerous Sri Lankan national records across various freestyle events.
Kyle’s international breakthrough came at the 2017 Youth Commonwealth Games held in Nassau, Bahamas, where he won two silver medals in the 50m and 100m freestyle events. This remarkable achievement made him the first and only Sri Lankan swimmer to win two medals at a single edition of the Youth Commonwealth Games—cementing his legacy in the country’s sporting history.
