Wimalasena Perera is a former Sri Lankan Olympian who competed in athletics, representing the country at the international level. He participated in the men’s 4×400 meters relay at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, making him one of the few Sri Lankan athletes to have competed in the prestigious event. His participation in the Tokyo Olympics was a significant moment in Sri Lanka’s sporting history, as it demonstrated the country’s emerging presence on the global athletic stage.
